Padre Island National Seashore is a place for all people, with activities for every level of ability. We are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive experience for everyone. Beach Wheelchairs

Beach wheelchairs and walkers are available to borrow from the visitor center.

 

Service Animals

Service animals are allowed in Padre Island National Seashore. More information is available regarding a definition of what qualifies as a service animal or general information on having pets in the park.

All dogs, including service animals, are allowed throughout the park on beaches and trails. Only service animals are able to accompany you into the visitor center. Companion dogs that are used only to provide comfort, or emotional support animals, are not allowed in the visitor center.

Waste

You are responsible for packing out any waste and disposing of it properly. Trash cans are available at Malaquite Visitor Center, both campgrounds, in the Bird Island Basin area, and at the entrance to each beach.

Leashes

Service animals should be on a leash no longer than 6 feet in length when this does not interfere with the service they are providing.
